Why Rent a Condo in Asok?

Although Bangkok doesn't have an exact 'center', you could argue that Asoke is as central as you can get. Both the underground and overground transport links connect at BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit. In addition the airport link also stops there with a quick and direct connection to Suvarnabhumi airport, making Asok a great place to live for frequent flyers. These transport gives quick and easy access to most parts of the city and is definitely one of most appealing aspects of renting a condo in Asok.

Adding to the convenience of living in Asok is the abundance of international restaurants, hotels, and activities located within a small area. The airport themed Terminal 21 shopping mall connects to the BTS station and contains more than 500 shops and over 60 restaurants plus a cinema, making it a great way to kill some time during rainy season.

Asoke is also a business hub, with the imposing Exchange Tower and Interchange Tower home to many international companies and the SET (Thai Stock Exchange). The thousands of office workers in the area mean that there is a thriving lunch time trade and plenty of cafes and restaurants to serve it.

Asok is densely populated with condos and apartments for rent with plenty of choices for all needs and budgets.

How to Spend a Day in Asok

When choosing an area to rent a condo or apartment in Bangkok, we'd strongly recommend taking a day to explore the neighbourhood and find out if it's a good fit for you. Here is our rough guide to spending a day in Asoke...

Start the day in one of Asoke's many coffee and breakfast cafes. The cozy Iwane Goes Nature on Soi 23 offers inside and outside seating and serves excellent coffee as well as fresh baked breads and cakes.

From there, take a walk down Soi 23, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of Sukhumvit Road and take a stroll or a cycle around the nearby Benjakitti Park while the weather is still cool. The park is centred around a huge lake and is a great respite from the traffic and noise of the city.

After all that exercise what better place for a pitstop than treating yourself to a massage? Luckily Asok is full of traditional massage shops and you won't having any trouble finding them, but we'd recommend Y-Spa on Sukhumvit Soi 16. Y-Spa has multiple different relaxation rooms, sauna, steam room, and cold pools. For just 500 THB per person, you can relax and unwind here for hours.

Lunch time! With so many restaurants varying from delicious street food to 5* hotel buffets, its difficult for us to recommend just one place. However the Pullman Hotel in Soi 21 has a great buffet with seafood, cheese platter, and everything else you'd expect for reasonable prices.

Now that you're fully recharged it's time to do some shopping at Terminal 21. With hundreds of shops to choose from you can find anything you want from high street brand chains to alternative independent stalls on higher floors. Once you've satisfied your retail therapy urge, why not see what's on at SF Cinema City on the top floor?

By now you're probably ready for an evening meal (and a drink) and like most areas of Bangkok, you're spoilt for choice in Asok. For a nice Italian we'd recommend Rossano's (Soi 21/3), for cheap and cheerful local food Suda (Soi 14) and for a drink Craft (Soi 23), which has an astounding array of craft beers from all over the world. If you're still not tired, go next door to Whisgars and indulge in some delicious whisky and an imported cigar.

Houses for Rent in Asoke

Given how popular and dense the Asok area has become in the past 15 years, many houses have been bought up, knocked down, and turned into condos by developers. This is bad news for anyone looking for a house in the area but there are still some around, usually in high-end moo baans (compounds) with security and shared facilities.
